Health Hub Cancer Recovery Hub: A Vision for Holistic Healing
The Health Hub Cancer Recovery Hub is a unique project in development near Whakatāne, designed to provide a tranquil retreat for individuals recovering from cancer. Located on a 1.92-hectare property in Ōhope, the Hub will feature five two-person bungalows surrounded by lush greenery and organic fruit and vegetable gardens.
- Luxurious bungalows nestled in nature, offering peace and relaxation.
- Over 40 fruit trees and gardens for growing organic produce onsite.
- Future exploration of thermal water resources for therapeutic use.
Despite challenges during the resource consent process, the project has been refined to focus on health-oriented accommodation that emphasizes comfort and well-being. This initiative is set to become a trailblazing example of health-focused retreats in New Zealand, offering guests a one-of-a-kind experience.
The center will focus on providing a serene environment for post-cancer recovery, featuring organic fruit and vegetable gardens, with plans to plant over 40 fruit trees. Guests will enjoy nutritious meals and a tranquil setting designed to support physical and emotional healing.
Inspired by his sister’s recovery from cancer, Ozgur envisions the retreat as a place where individuals recovering from chemotherapy can rebuild their strength in a supportive, natural environment. While not a medical facility, the center aims to promote well-being through healthy living. Future plans include exploring the use of potential thermal hot water resources for therapeutic purposes.
The Health Hub is poised to become a one-of-a-kind sanctuary in New Zealand, merging sustainable practices with holistic recovery
